It has been a long time since I wrote on this blog. Where have I been since January? Been to Colorado, Austin, Las Vegas and round about to Half Moon Bay for my birthday, Filoli Mansion for Spring flowers, Granddaugher Madison's first birthday, Friend Cheryls birthday, working at Kaiser, cleaning house, getting ready for a friend to move into the Master bedroom. It is different when it is a friend. I want to go by the "rules" of any tenant and she thinks I should give extra because she is a friend. I do hope we can come to agreements without fist fights. We are both strong willed women. What do you think? Help me out with this one please.

A very big success for me has been getting 1200 or more old photos and slides off to be scanned on to a DVD. What a feeling of relief. Also a great pleasure to look at slides of the boys and others from many, many years ago. I have already had some professional old photos re colored for a small fee. Nice to have the color back. My intention is to create a book using iphoto to give to my sons that show ancestors and current family members. They have not seen many of those photos of themselves ever as the really cute ones are from ages 4-8 or so. The scanning process takes about 6 weeks and I am able to review all of them before I accept. I only pay for what I keep. Keep posted.

Retirement? Getting out of a job that pays well but for the sake of my health is a challenge. Hard to give it up and know that money and mortgages need to be addressed. Time to "trust the process" that I have promoted for so long.

NOW it is "back to what I know works" to create income for retirement. I would love to have you join me. IF you know of someone that has been affected by the economy please send them to this site. I will be kind and informative as to some other options for income.

Another beautiful day. No, I did not take this photo today but I have it on my desktop and I really like looking at the clarity and the perfection of nature. (I took it last August in Austin, Tx)

The saga of the fractured ankle and the metal left inside my ankle is nearly over. The metal is out and I am feeling better. My mind is clearer and I am much more organized believe it or not. I believe that I am affected by the foreign material in my system. I am truly grateful to the good podiatrist that took it out. Oh yes, my skin has reacted as well with cracked hands and feet and elbow stuff. I have come to the conclusion that may be caused by Vicodin. This med causes dryness in the colon so why not the skin? I will keep you informed as it is a commonly used pian medication. As soon as I had insight into that possibility I stopped it. I just want to get back to natural and normal and off anything except good supplements.

Tomorrow I am going in for follow up and expect that he will say he agrees that my foot and leg look better. It took over a year of suffering and a very unattractive ankle with discolored skin. This past year was more difficult than anything I have ever been blessed to have as lessons. Heart disease, breast cancer, raising children alone....this was more overwhelming than any of that OR I just don't remember the rest. So, if you are ever aware of anyone who has metal or some foreign material in their body and they don't feel well tell them my story and suggest they get a 2nd and 3rd opinion.

It is time for an update. We have a new President! Have you signed up at Starbucks to donate 5 hours a week in your community? I am off to do that today after a much needed nap. What can we do to create a better country when the powers in Washington, D.C. try to figure this all out? My interest is single mothers and foster care. Also, heard Rick Steves, the travel guy, speak yesterday and he peaked my interest. He mentioned that there are a huge number of mothers in the world that are unable to stay home and take care of their children because they have to walk miles to get water and wood everyday. Drilling a well would cost $10,000 and they could stay home, create some income and be the parent with "family values" in place. I think I could donate and raise funds for a well for a village in Africa. What do you think about that?
